Lyrics
One... two...
One-two-three...
One... two...
One-two-three...
VERSE 1
She walks in slow like the room owes rent
Black little halo and a bad intent
Every head turns when she crosses the floor
Nobody knows what they're kneeling for
She don't need fire, she don't need smoke
Just one little smile and the whole room chokes
She can make salvation sound obscene
Put a little poison in the gasoline
I watched her turn water into doubt
Put the truth in chains and drag it out
She'll kiss your cheek while she counts your sins
Then lock the door and invite you in
PRE-CHORUS
Don't believe the velvet
Don't believe the white
Don't believe the scripture
When the serpent holds the light
CHORUS
She'll tell you what you wanna hear
Whisper heaven in your ear
Pull you close enough to taste
Every promise she can waste
Yeah, she knows just where to cut
Keeps the blade beneath her tongue
Makes a believer out of anyone
Then leaves before the damage comes
VERSE 2
She got ten commandments tattooed in gold
Breaks every one before the coffee gets cold
She'll sell you mercy by the pound
Then take your name when you turn around
Got that dead-stare Sunday kind of grace
With a little bit of hell behind her face
She can make a guilty man confess
To things he ain't even done yet
She's got saints lined up at the bedroom door
Sinners crawling back for a little bit more
Everybody swears they know her game
Everybody burns just the same
PRE-CHORUS
Don't believe the velvet
Don't believe the white
Don't believe the scripture
When the serpent holds the light
CHORUS
She'll tell you what you wanna hear
Whisper heaven in your ear
Pull you close enough to taste
Every promise she can waste
Yeah, she knows just where to cut
Keeps the blade beneath her tongue
Makes a believer out of anyone
Then leaves before the damage comes
GUITAR SOLO
BRIDGE
I don't need your heaven
I already saw the price
I don't need forgiveness
From somebody rolling loaded dice
Keep your holy water
Keep your hands up off my head
You can promise resurrection
But I'd rather stay dead
I saw behind the curtain
I saw the wires underneath
There's nothing supernatural
About the way you make 'em bleed
So save that revelation
For somebody still impressed
You ain't the hand of judgment—
You're just good at getting dressed.
FINAL CHORUS
Tell me what I wanna hear
Whisper heaven in my ear
Pull me close enough to taste
Every promise you can waste
Yeah, I know just where you cut
Know the blade beneath your tongue
You made believers out of everyone—
But I ain't gonna be one.
OUTRO
No, I ain't gonna be one...
Ain't gonna be one...
The story
Some people don't need horns to be the devil. They just need a convincing smile and a congregation willing to believe.
Cold Eyed Preacher is a dark, hypnotic journey through deception, temptation, false salvation and the dangerous power of a beautiful lie. She's got a halo made of shadows, scripture on her lips and a blade beneath her tongue. She'll sell you salvation, convince you she's heaven-sent, and leave you questioning everything you believed. But sooner or later the curtain falls, and behind all that manufactured holiness is something painfully human: manipulation, hypocrisy and a hunger for control.
Musically, it's built on an unconventional 5/8 groove, thunderous drums, fuzz-drenched six-string bass and crushing drop-tuned guitars, with a solo that climbs from haunting melody into absolute chaos: progressive hard rock with blues-soaked attitude.
At its heart, this isn't a song about religion. It's about the people who weaponize belief, exploit trust and disguise their own intentions as righteousness.
"Don't believe the scripture when the serpent holds the light."
The animated music video (AI-generated visuals) carries the song's sinister atmosphere into a world where appearances deceive and every promise comes with a price.
